Manish wins All-Odisha Open School chess title

Manish Kumar of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar won the title, securing 6.5 points in the All-Odisha Open School Chess Tournament, which was organised by Rotary Club of Shri Jagannath Dham, under the aegis of District Chess Association of Puri and All Odisha Chess Association at Sagar Tarang Residency in Puri on November 12 and 13.

Woman Fide Master (WFM) Saina Salonika of KIIT International School, Bhubaneswar settled as runner-up with 6.5 points, while Ankita Sahoo of Sai International School, Bhubaneswar finished third with six points. Altogether 146  players from different places of the state participated in the seven-round tournament, which carried a total prize fund of Rs 25,000.

Immediate Past Rotary Governor Siba Prasad Dash, PDG ARRFC Rtn Anirudha Ray Chowdhury and Mother Public School Principal Polly Patnaik handed over the prizes at the closing ceremony.
